Happy Halloween!!!

I'm Avril Lavigne today...who are you?

An extremely modest man was in the hospital for a series of tests, the last of which had left his bodily systems extremely upset.
Upon making several false alarm trips to the bathroom, he decided the latest episode was another and stayed put.

He suddenly filled his bed with diarrhea and was embarrassed beyond his ability to remain rational.

In a complete loss of composure he jumped out of bed, gathered up the bed sheets, and threw them out the hospital window.
A drunk was walking by the hospital when the sheets landed on him.

He started yelling, cursing, and swinging his arms violently trying to get the unknown things off, and ended up with the soiled sheets in a tangled pile at his feet.
As the drunk stood there, unsteady on his feet, staring down at the sheets, a hospital security guard, (barely containing his laughter), and who had watched the whole incident, walked up and asked, "What the heck is going on here?"

The drunk, still staring down replied: "I think I just beat the shit out of a ghost."

Happy Halloween :o)

In Stores TOMORROW!!!

After burning a hole through my calendar for several months now, Nick's first solo CD "Now or Never" finally comes out tomorrow!!!  So what will Shana be doing at 10am tomorrow morning?  Sitting in Forestry like she is supposed to...or waiting patiently with my nose pressed up against the glass for the doors to open at Best Buy.  hmmmmmmmmm, let me think.

So the site was down for a few days.  Actually, my site was fine, it was the "shanamartin.com" URL from namesecure.  I already gave them crap, so hopefully it won't happen again.

Only TWO WEEKS until I leave for Connecticut and New York.  Miles is picking me up from the airport in Connecticut on Friday (dressed as god knows what) then we are taking a train up to New York City to meet Kenny.  Saturday will be spent at the photo shoot with Laurie, either in NYC or Pennsylvania (remember, everything out there is really close together).  Hopefully Saturday night Miles and I will get a chance to enjoy the city and eat at this sweet ass Chinese place he knows of there.  I thought about going to the Sept. 11th memorial, but we decided we weren't quite ready to see that yet.

I'm SO EXCITED to get off of this stinking diet.  Although I have cheated more than ever on this one, I still hate it.  I totally cannot wait to learn how to cook from Miles...and possibly a cooking class for dummies out in Connecticut.

So December 22nd...write that down in your calendars.  I GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE!  Holy crap it's really going to happen.  Anyway, commencement is that morning, followed by an open house at my place.  The younger folks will get wild and crazy later that night.

This week is pretty much going to be the same as the last.  Lots of studying, working out, and not eating.  Warning: expect EXTREME crankiness.  At least I will have my new CD to keep me going.  :)

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

See, here's what happens.  I get a little behind on posting here, then I never want to post anything because it would turn into a novel.

Let me quickly catch up:

  • Did a Lumberjack Show in Ohio, met Randy, got a free pair of Arborwear pants, and ate too much Kettle Corn
  • Took my American Counsel on Exercise (ACE) exam in Chicago (and passed...yippee!)
  • Taught many cardio karate classes
  • Worked many hours at Supreme

That leaves us at a week ago when my boyfriend Miles came to visit.  Not everything went quite as planned, but we still managed to have a blast!  We went to Fright Fest at Six Flags Great America the same day he arrived.  There were no lines!  It was great!  My transmission decided to go caput, so that Saturday was spent dealing with that.  We eventually rented a car and drove up to Minneapolis so he could visit the Law School there.  Sunday we stopped at Great Wolf Lodge on our drive home and spent a few hours at the Indoor Water Park there.  Monday I showed him around campus and Miles got to sit through one of my incredibly exciting Biomechanics classes.  Tuesday Miles visited the Law school here in Madison, while I enjoyed a fun-filled day of class.

The rest of the week was fairly normal (as normal as my days get I guess).  I spend most of last weekend working at the health club, and Saturday watched some of my kids roll at the Round Robin River Rat Roll in LaCrosse, WI.

So this morning I had a special treat.  I was invited to be the guest speaker for an all-school fun run at Prairieview Middle school in Sun Prairie, WI.  They donated the proceeds of the run to the Huntington's Disease Society of America, as well as the American Heart Association.  I was given the honor to speak to the kids about two of the most prevalent topics in my life: Huntington's Disease and the importance of Lifetime Physical Fitness.  When I arrived at the school, a huge banner read, "Welcome Shana Martin"!  I was so excited!  Posted all around the school were posters describing the sports I participate in as well and information on Huntington's Disease.  After I talked, parents, teachers, and all of the students ran a mile and a half, followed by an awards ceremony.  I want to say a HUGE "Thank You" to Sue, Nancy, and the rest of the staff at Prairieview for hosting this event.

Alright...that's the update.  Tonight I teach cardio karate, and study my butt off for my two exams this week.  Bye!

A Whole New Life...

Sorry this picture is a bit large...I'll fix it on Monday.  So yeah.  Ever have your life flip-turn upside down in a weekend?  Well, as it did for the Fresh Prince of Belle Aire...things are way different in the land of Shana.  I'm not going to get into the goofy details, but I may be moving to Connecticut in January.  I will just leave it at that for now.  Who's the guy up there?  That's Miles.  That is yet another long story to be told.  BUT my dad is waiting in my living room for me to get going because we plan to drive all night to Ohio.  Doing a little Lumberjack show performing at the Paul Bunyan Fest.

I made it to the final cut for Homecoming court...the last six out of the bagillion that applied.  But I didn't make it to court.  Second year in a row they dragged me out to finals....got me all excited...then pooped on my head.  Yeah, I'm bitter.

Okay, I want to write a lot more about my trip to Connecticut, and my fitness stuff, and Miles, and my crippled roommate who broke his foot...but my dad is getting kind of peeved, so I'm outtie!
